The article I read is about a 6-year old boy who was kidnapped last Wednesday in Las Vegas. I had not ever heard about this before I read the article. I wanted to read about it because I was curious to see what had happened. It said that 3 men came into his house on some sort of drug-dealing related rampage and tied up his parents. When they searched the house and couldn't find any money, they took the boy instead. They activated an Amber Alert and on Saturday they got an alert that someone had seen a boy who mathced the description walking alone on a sidewalk in the city's eastside. They confirmed it was him. I also learned, they think it could have had to do something with the little boy's grandfather, who had earlier been involved in a "significant drug dealing" and may have taken millions of dollars from drug dealers. Now that they have found the boy, they are focusing more on finding out about the drug dealing and the 3 men. I would like to know who the men were that done this because it is very mean to take someone's child. At least he was unharmed when they found him.

Parents Abandoning Teens
The article I read is about how recently, teenagers are being abandoned by their parents in Nebraska at hospitals. In most states, there is a Safe Haven law that allows you to anonymously drop your child off at any hospital within 72 hours of birth if you do not think you can care for it. However, in Nebraska the law does not state an age limit. People are abusing this fact and even driving to the state to be able to drop off there older children. I wanted to read this article because I thought it was pretty funny that parents would drop off there kids at a hopital and leave them, and even go as for as to drive to another state to do it. I had never heard anything about his before I read this article, so I wanted to read about it. I learned about the Safe Haven law, which I had never heard of. It is actually a good idea, but not when it is being used on older children. I learned that the cause of the parents abandoning their kids was from stress and not being able to deal with their child's problems. I also learned they are trying to set up some type of program that you can come to, like a self-help group, which would be more useful. I would like to know why Nebraska didn't have an age limit like everyone else in the first place if they didn't want something like this to happen.
